He's definitely not Elite

june 14, 2014

for most of matt ryan career most sports writer has called him elite or close to elite. on the positive side matt ryan is a good quarterback in my opinion. he has won more games than he's lost, he has high stats, and can move down the field on an opponent.

more than that, i'm not convinced. i seriously doubt he can get to the superbowl let alone win one. when defenses rush him or get a good hit on him, bad things happen. he will panic and get that dear in the headlight look and either fumble, rush his throw and not connect or throw an interception. he also has a tendy to fall alot and the offense will stall or worse.

his pitiful playoff record proves he doesn't have what it takes to even get to the superbowl. in the playoffs his stats go down because he goes from good to average at best. with the best receiving core in the nfl he ought to be dominating.

i'm amazed with all those weapons his offense will not score points in some quarters. at the very least i would think they should score at least a touchdown each quarter. in many games we leave a lot of points on the ground. case in point in the champsionship game against the san francisco 49ers, we lead at half time by a large margin. in the second half we didn't score a single point and lost by 2 or 3 points.

matt ryan is in no way like drew brees or  tom brady. those quarterback can dominate a team by there will and talent alone. matt ryan doesn't possess that kind of talent. another case in point in two seasons russell wilson won a superbowl. in matt ryan six season, he has won one playoff game. at this rate in twelve years, matt will have won two playoff games. and that will not get him to the superbowl.
