Matt Melted Again

two losses in a row with matt ryan guiding the ship. at home against the san diego chargers, matt ryan lead the team to score three points in the second half of the game. among his second half accomplishments were a late fourth quarter interception that lead to the chargers touchdown.

in a game that atlanta should have won easily, nothing is easy with matt ryan and company. 33% red zone effeciency was anything but. under his guidance the offense produced two touchdowns. in contrast, the charger's offense produced three touchdown and the victory.

another blunder of a golden opportunity. this is starting to resemble last year. hot start and cold finish. too little to late.

matt ryan missed oppourtunity

after a galant comback attempt, matt ryan in the end falls due to missed opportunities and bad plays in the fourth quarter by our qb. matt ryan throws an interception that proved to be the nail in the coffin. then on the next time they get the ball, matt ryan throws four in-completions. also he could have run for a first down on one of these throws.

not to mentions matt ryan produced three points in the first half and lost a fumble that seattle recovered. this was a game matt ryan lost, that seattle was able take full advantage of.

securing the ball

one big difference of the matt ryan this year vs other years, is that he is securing the ball. no crazy interceptions or fumble that cough of the ball to give the opponent the opportunity to build momenten in their favor.

victory over the mighty denver broncos has to be the biggest win in career, especially on the road against the top defense in the league. the offensive coordinator creative plays and unpredictability have enhanced the atlanta offense.

kudos to the mighty running backs who can catch the ball effectively and burn opponents in open space has propelled the falcons to another dimension. opponents have to decide do we take away julio jones or die by the running back tandem.

matt ryan taking advantage of what the defense gives him, by exploiting their weakness and handling the pass rush better have made for great success so far. next week it on the road to seattle seahawks.

503 yards passing, most to Julio Jones

matt ryan had a record setting outing against the top defensive team of the charlotte panthers. he threw for over 500 yards with four touchdowns. impressive stats and had a rare game where he excel against a  top tier opponent.

the fact is the big difference maker was julio jones.  with his 300 yards in the game in passing, he was the reason the falcons won. take out j. jones yards total then the rest of the receiver made up 203 passing yards combined. many of jones yards came after the catch as well. combine that with the offense coordinator brilliant play calling kept the panthers on their toes.

our next opponent is the denver broncos who has keep opposing teams less than 21 points per game and has shut down passing games. with running back coleman a possible no show, this will test matt ryan success.
