Atlanta upset New Orleans

september 8th, 2014

the atlanta falcons played like champions against our biggest enemy, the new orleans saints. atlanta defense kept two touchdown in the red zone in the first half, later intercepted dree brees in the end zone to stop another touchdown, and caused a fumble in overtime to set up the winning field goal.

atlanta showed toughness in coming back after falling 13 points behind in the first half before atlanta scored a single point. the new talents came alive led by devin hester 99 yards recieving, antone smith 54 yard touchdown, and hard running from davonte freeman looks very promising.

add to atlanta rushing game showed up big time with a total of 123 yards. we kept new orleans defense off balance with all the above success.

with falcons fixing the offense line proved to be a key to all matt ryan command of the field like a field general.the biggest difference makers of all was the play of matt ryan. uncharacterically he ran to extend plays and make first downs and keep drives going. it also kept the saints off balance. he also showed he could will his way to victory. this inspired the atlanta defense and they held the saints offense to 14 points in the second half.

he was so on fire, he out threw the great brees by over a 100 yards, while setting all time atlanta records for touchdown and yards in a single game. we were 100% in the red zone and 54% on third down conversions were big contributors to our victory.

like i said a big key when i knew atlanta had a great chance for a serious superbowl win, was a victory of new orleans. if the falcons can keep this up we have a real chance. atlanta was working on all cylinders yesterday and showed the most strength as a team in a long time.

time will tell if we can truely make it and win in the post season. there is hope with the performance in this game. if this team keep this up we will have the best season in our history. this was one exciting game and i'm glad i got a chance to watch this one.

the big questions are can matt ryan keep this up the rest of the season? can our defense create an effective pass rush? how will other teams defenses respond to our offense in the future? can enough key players on our team stay healthy doing the season?

i certainly hope atlanta keep it coming to make for an amazing season.
