Big Game = one touchdown

This is getting really redundant and old, but not as old is Matty Ice.  The 100 million dollar man produced one touchdown in a vital game to make the playoffs. With the Falcon controlling their destiny and fate, he put up pitiful results.

Third down efficiency of 15%, really means 85% of time unsuccessful.  Red zone results 1 out of 4 attempts = 25%. The hated Saints shut down Matt Ryan.

Did I mention he threw another interception which equal his number of touchdowns in the game.  Did I mention no points in the first half.

Bottom line Matt is old, slow, ineffective, and pathetic.

Matt is old and slow and it shows

After 13 games this season, Matt has thrown only 17 touchdowns. Of those scores, Julie Jones only has three of that total. 18 quarterbacks have thrown more touchdown than Matt this season. Carson Wenz has thrown 33 touchdowns, Russell Wilson has thrown 29 touchdowns, Philip Rivers has thrown 29 touchdowns, Jared Goff has thrown 22 touchdowns, Andy Dalton has thrown 21 touchdowns.
Of the top 20 ranked Quarterback according to NFL.com, Matt is tied in second place with most interception thrown with 11. He is tied with Russell Wilson who has 11 INT but he has tossed 12 more touchdowns than Matt.
Matt has only been sacked 17 times this year which is very low. Russell Wilson has been sacked 30 times for comparison. Atlanta's top two running backs has produced 1,273 yards vs Seattle total rushing game has produced 828 yards. Russel Wilson ran for 482 of those yards.
Antonio Brown has 26 more reception and 6 more touchdowns than Julio Jones after 13 games. Matt obviously can't get the ball to the best receiver in the NFL. Tyreek Hill has caught twice as many touchdowns as Jones. Julio Jones is ranked 99th in touchdown scores vs other scoring receivers and running backs.
15 offenses have scored more points than the Atlanta Falcons offense in the passing category. The Atlanta offense has scored a total of 294 points which averages 22 points a game. This equals three touchdowns in a loaded offense with top receivers and running backs. The Los Angelas Rams offense have put up 102 more points so far. They are averaging 30 points a game.
In total offensive scoring category, Atlanta ranks 16th which is in the middle of the league. Consider the same players are on the team, same playbook from last year, and low sacks on the MVP QB, and this offensive last year was one of the best in NFL history. This is large plunge in production is just in-conceivable.
Atlanta's defense has only gave up a average of 20 points a game which is ranked number six in the NFL. The defense has 34 total sacks and ranked 11th in that category. Atlanta defense is ranked number 7 in total yards given up this year. The Defense is ranked number 7 overall.
Clearly this year the Atlanta Defense has had a better season than the history making Atlanta offense. What a turnaround in a year time. This clearly shows Matt Ryan has been really under performing and has gotten to old to play any longer. He is clearly the reason we have struggled and time for a fresh new direction at quarterback.

Nighmare on Matt's Street

Last night against the division rival Saints, Matt Ryan turnovers almost cost us the game if not for our defense saving the day.  Throughout this season Matty Ice has played horrible and is a big reason we have lost a lot of games this year.

Coaches always preach protect the ball and not turn it over at all cost. This season with close to 20 Interceptions and numerous fumbles, his game is at a D+. Last night he threw not one or two but three interceptions.  One of them was very close to the end zone that cost us a sure touchdown drive.

The Atlanta defense kept the Saints scoreless in the deciding fourth quarter and intercepted a Drew Brews pass that sealed our victory. By the way Ryan only managed one touchdown threw the air and Freeman scored one on the ground. In his last two games he's credit with only two touchdown, which one a game. This will not win any playoff games and with his lack of execution, the playoff maybe a pipe dream any way.

In a few weeks this nightmarish season will end.

Minnosata Viking Shut Down Matt Ryan

Minnesota Viking dominated Matt Ryan holding him to 173 yards, zero TD's, 16/29 passes/ total attempts.  Matt throws were too high or not on target on key plays and help seal his doom.

The offense ran over 100 yards but that was not nearly enough.  The best receiver in the NFL Julio Jones had only two catches in the entire game. Most QB's can get the ball to their top receiver in every game but not Matty Ice. Example Jody Nelson get plenty of catches in every game he is in.

Matt led offense had a pitiful 10 % third down efficency (90 percent of the time they didn't make it), only got in the red zone once, and scored three field goals the entire games. Again no touchdown in one of the top offenses in the NFL. Minnesota QB Keenam had a much better day with 25/30 227 yards an two touchdowns. Again another QB outshines The NFL's MVP.

Matt will be spending the playoff at home this year.

Can the 2017 Turnover King play it safe and sound

One of the biggest games of the year is against the highly rated Minnesota Vikings.  Matt Ryan play will determine victory or loss. The Falcons three game winning streak is because of two main reason: 3rd down percentages have been very high and Matt Ryan is not turning over the ball.

Another key to victory is keep Julio Jones feed more. Only three touchdown all year.  Julio proved in the last game he can dominate teams when given the opportunity. Recalling last year playoff game against the Green Bay Packers and superman bull dozed his way to the end zone.

Before this winning streak he was interception and fumble prone which sunk the team to never recover.  This is a big test against a mighty defense. Since Seattle defense was bang up this year ATL had the advantage. New England Patriots defense dominated Ryan and  held him to 7 points.

The key to defeating the Vikings is ball control, keeping their offense on the sideline, scoring every quarter with touchdowns and no turnovers. He has thrown just 16 touchdown and eight interception this year. So the game can go either way. It all starts and end with number 2.

Anything less will spell doom  and gloom.

The Panthers rose up and the Falcons laid another egg

Matt Ryan lead offense scores 17 points against the divsion rival Carolina Panthers. With a loaded roster of Julio Jones, Davanta Freeman, Coleman, Sanu and others and this is all the points that was generated. 17 points will not win games in the NFL.

The offense got 17 first downs in four quarters of football. That is an average of 4 first downs a quarter. Matt threw another interception, his 7th for the season. Last season that was his total for all of 2016.

Third down efficiency was 33% which is pitiful. This means 67% of the time the Atlanta Defense had to return to the field and got worn out. Sound familiar, like Super  Bowl 51 meltdown.

Matty Ice keep up the good work.  Forget the playoff, and we know who will not be in Super Bowl 52.

Another Fumbling Effort

Against the New York Jets who has one of the lowest ranked defenses in the NFL, Matt continue to mess up and under perform. Let's start with three fumbles in which two of them were lost. He can't protect the ball anymore.

He threw for less than 300 yards in the game ( his yardage was identical to the Jets quarterback). Produced only 2 touchdowns, none to Julio Jones. Third down efficiency was the sames as the Jets offense at 35%. The most shocking stats Red Zone Efficiency was 33%.

I stopped watching the Falcons after the New England beat down. I refuse to watch again until they start scoring 30 points a game.

The only positives I can say about the offense this game was the 54 yard bomb to Julio and scoring in every quarter.

After 7 games, Matt Ryan stats are neck and neck with Jay Cutler

After looking at Matt Ryan Quarterback stats after 7 games he is having the same year as Jay Cutler. Is that why he makes so much money?

Matt has a QB rating of 89.3 and Jay Cutler rating is 78.8.  Matt has thrown 7 touchdowns and 6 interceptions, while Jay has thrown 7 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. No wonder our offense can't score many points b/c a lot of Matt interceptions ended up touchdowns for the opposing defenses.

This year Matt base salary will be almost 16 million dollars. While Jay base salary this year will be 10 million dollar. Maybe we should trade Matt for Jay and save cap space for a stronger team. Something to ponder.

Someone to replace Matt Ryan

A great replacement for Matt Ryan He is a scoring machines, his personal  stats alone dominate opponent  offenses in the ACC. In his freshman year he won a Heisman Trophy.

Matty Ice is hopelessly lost

After five games in this NFL season, Julio Jones got his first touchdown pass from Matt Ryan against the New England Patriots.  This is symbolic of the kind of season Matt Ryan is having this year.  Six interceptions, low scoring offense, and costly mistakes have marked this season. Matt has no passion and is just going thru the motions. Maybe he is still shell shocked over that incredible loss in the Super Bowl 51. He made the wrong type of history that night, most points that was overcome, and it will haunt him forever. Interesting to note his passer rating was perfect. All one has to say is 28-3 to instantly take him back to that infamous night.

After 10 seasons in the books, his highlights are MVP of 2016 and good start as a rookie QB. The bad things are his losing playoff record and that massive loss in Super Bowl 51.  The bad things out weigh the good stuff by a mile. He has to know he may never see another Super Bowl since it took him 10 years to get in his first one.  He is playing like a man who soul is lost with no possible light in his future.  He knows after playing perfectly was not enough to win it all. Of course time will tell, but my bet is he will not get any better for the rest of his football career.

Matt Folded Against the Patriots

Each weak this season it is becoming harder and harder to watch Matt bad plays. Against the Patriot he was the only qb to throw less than 300 yards. Third down efficiency was 22%.

Add to that 25% in the redzone and leaving a lot of points on the ground. No inspired play just going thru the emotions. He did run more which was a nice change. Now he is hard to watch.

More Bad New on Ryan, I couldn't said it better myself

He keeps this up and a replacement is looking really good.

Finally someone else had the guts to tell it

The truth on Matty ice:

http://www.foxsports.com/watch/the-herd-with-colin-cowherd/video/1074289731635

Matt has thrown 6 touchdowns and 6 Interceptions so far this season

Matt can't find the end zone and keep throwing passes to the opposition. Against the Miama Dolphins he was only able to generate 17 points for the entire game. A super talented team of receivers, running backs, and MVP QB and this is pitiful. scoreless the second half.

This is getting very familiar. Lack on production in the second half. Atlanta will not be a lot of teams scoring less than 30 points a game. Next up, the Super bowl winning New England Patriot. Tom Brady want have to worry about a comeback, this could be over by half time.

6 turnovers in two games in a row

Matt Ryan sloppy play has officially cost us a game. This time against Buffalo he threw two interceptions and fumbled the ball that scored a TD for them. He threw for under 300 yards and only produced 7 points in the second half of football.

It is safe to say he's not a repeat of the MVP this season. The offense that made history last year as  one of the best all time in the history of football is under performing. The run game is sharp and effective and our tight end is contributing big time as a new weapon.

The big problem is Matt Ryan sloppy play. Six turnovers in two games in a row. He seems to have a mental breakdown. The old Matt Ryan is back unfortunately and the fans know it. The fans left in droves during the game because they could see the writing on the wall.

@Detriot: Matt throws three interception and almost cost us the victory

Mr. MVP looked like anything but in his performance against the Detriot Lions. Several delay of games, sloppy execution, and the deadly three interceptions were tough to overcome. Our mighty defense won us this game. They were hard hitting and came up with a couple of sacks without the NFL leading pass rusher last year Vic Beasley due to a hamstring injury.

One of his interceptions was taken all the way to the house for a touchdown. Matt seemed out of synch and the running game was on point that opened up the pass game. Matt also missed some open receivers by over throwing the ball.

Also of note Matt last score occurred with 14:50 minutes in the fourth quarter. Like the last year Super Bowl our offense ran out gas in the last quarter. Emphases will have to be placed on the offense to keep scoring or at least hold on the ball for long drives to eat up clock to make victories more assured and not let the opponents back in it.  If not we will come up on the short list.

Interesting note: Julio Jones has yet to score a touchdown after three games in the new season. Matt may want to deplore all of his weapons in order to keep the offense scoring. In contrast Devonte Freeman has four touchdowns.

He is very lucky the Atlanta defense played tough all the way and saved the game. Next up is Buffalo Bills at the new Mercedez Benz staduim in the ATL.

The Big Games

I'm reminded in big games Matt Ryan usually under performs. It why he has a losing playoff record and the reason we lost Superbowl 51.

The first time Matt Ryan faced Green Packers in the playoffs with home field advantage, he stunk up the place and threw two crazy interception in the first half that sealed the falcons fate. It was close after that and we got kicked out of the playoffs.

Against the New York Giants in the playoff he produced zero points, the defense scored a safety. How does that happen for a top QB in the NFL.

Against San Francisco 49ers in the champership game, after putting up a big lead at half time. In the end he came up short again and again on his home turf.

In the biggest game in his career in Superbowl 51, while average 33 points a game in 2016, the offense lead by him only put up 21 points. If he put up his average points they would have won the Superbowl.

Conclusion maybe he ain't got it in him to make it on the big stage. Time will tell. Our defense looks stronger and he still has mighty weapons to call on but time will truly tell. And no don't give him another monster contract. The last time we did that he fell off the edge.

Super Bowl 51: Matt Ryan Really Sucked Part II

After looking thru the stats during Super Bowl 51 it plainer to see how much Matt Ryan sucked in the second half. For having the highest scoring offense in 2016 and top 10 all time, they only scored seven points in the second half.

It get worse. All of the second half the Atlanta offense produced only three first downs. Add the 12 percent 3rd down conversion all game and it clear Matt Ryan gave away the Superbowl. So it clear more than a missed block.  Matt took sacks and a fumble deep in his own territory. New England went on to score a touchdown easily on a short field.

In summary, it wasn't New England was so great and mighty, it was more that Matt was so weak and vulnerable. How does a veteran Quarterback play so poorly in the second half of a game. The first half of the game he dominated and then some how fell apart.

No wonder Atlanta defense ran out of gas, they couldn't catch their breath for having to keep returning to the field so quickly. Yes, Matty Ice handed the Lombardi trophy to them on a silver platter.

Matt Ryan has some of the best talent around him that any Atlanta QB has ever had. He has had Micheal Turner, Roddy White, Tony Gonzales, Julio Jones, Devonte Freeman, and more. How many games in career have he lost with bad decisions and costly mistakes. Too many.

This guy still has a losing overall playoff record at 3 wins and 5 losses. I think it is wise to draft a replacement QB in next year's draft b/c with this guy he's heading in the wrong direction.

Atanta Defense Does it Job and Matt Ryan Loses the Superbowl 51

Against all odds, Matt Ryan shocks the world and make is all the way  to the Superbowl. Atlanta Defense sacked and chased New England Tom Brady all over the field. Our defense returned a 82 yard touchdown interception that was the second longest in Superbowl history. Atlanta had built shuck a lead ESPN had calculated at one point in the game Atlanta had a 99 percent chance of winning it.

Then with Atlanta up by 25 points under Matt Ryan made really bad decisions and blunders like no others and makes Superbowl history by allowing New England to come back by the largest margin and win this game in overtime.  The first blunder in the second half of the game,  Matt Ryan get sacked deep in his own territory and fumble that New England recovers.

At times Matt Ryan will turn into a rookie QB by  making dumb mistakes. He had other options, like check down, throw it away, call a timeout and how about audible to a running play.

Then on the next offensive possession Atlanta had a chance to seal there 1st Superbowl after moving down to field goal range but Matt Ryan melted again. Taking a deep sack again and then the offense called for offensive holding on the next play after that. Another rookie mistake from a veteran QB that prescribes to never take a sack to take you out of field goal range.

Matt Ryan poor plays in the fourth quarter helped turn it all around for the Patriots. New England would go a unstoppable march to score several touchdowns and under Matt Ryan guidance Atlanta would not score another point.

Atlanta Falcons during this season offense scored the most points in the NFL. Much of this credit was due to the brilliant calling of offensive coordinator of Kyle Shannahan. In the second half of the game the offense produced just seven points. New England produced over twenty points in the second half.
Another key stat for the Matt Ryan lead offense during the game was Atlanta only converted 12 percent of 3rd down during the game.

This wore down the Atlanta defense who had to stay on the field majority of the game and was wore down because to Matt Ryan blunders. Yet again Matt Ryan choked again and this time it cost us the crown.

Bottom line during this season Matt Ryan had a MVP season but on the biggest stage in sports he turned into the his legacy of choking and doing dumb things in the end the game. The Atalanta Defense played above themselves while Matt Ryan played his true self. He knew it when he went to shake Tom Brady hand at the end of the game with his helmet on his head, he looked liked a little league QB who wanted to stop from crying.
