Mr. MVP looked like anything but in his performance against the Detriot Lions. Several delay of games, sloppy execution, and the deadly three interceptions were tough to overcome. Our mighty defense won us this game. They were hard hitting and came up with a couple of sacks without the NFL leading pass rusher last year Vic Beasley due to a hamstring injury.
One of his interceptions was taken all the way to the house for a touchdown. Matt seemed out of synch and the running game was on point that opened up the pass game. Matt also missed some open receivers by over throwing the ball.
Also of note Matt last score occurred with 14:50 minutes in the fourth quarter. Like the last year Super Bowl our offense ran out gas in the last quarter. Emphases will have to be placed on the offense to keep scoring or at least hold on the ball for long drives to eat up clock to make victories more assured and not let the opponents back in it. If not we will come up on the short list.
Interesting note: Julio Jones has yet to score a touchdown after three games in the new season. Matt may want to deplore all of his weapons in order to keep the offense scoring. In contrast Devonte Freeman has four touchdowns.
He is very lucky the Atlanta defense played tough all the way and saved the game. Next up is Buffalo Bills at the new Mercedez Benz staduim in the ATL.
